Dances With Wolves icon Graham Greene has died aged 73 after a long illness.
The acclaimed actor, who was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role as Kicking Bird in the 1990 Kevin Costner epic, passed away in a Toronto hospital on Monday.
His representative told Deadline: 'He was a great man of morals, ethics and character and will be eternally missed.'
'You are finally free. Susan Smith is meeting you at the gates of heaven,' he added, referencing the actor’s longtime agent who died in 2013.
Greene was known as an acting trailblazer, who raised the profile of Indigenous actors in Hollywood.
He married wife Hillary Blackmore in 1990 and the pair shared four children.
Greene, who was of Oneida First Nation and Canadian descent, was born on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario and worked as a welder, draftsman and steelworker before pursuing acting.

Now that's a show I haven't heard of in a LONG time!
If I don’t know already, I assume that person wanted to keep their politics to themself, and I respect that.
I used to love music by Pink Floyd. I listened to their work all the time.
Back in 2004, I went to a Roger Waters concert. I was in a large group of 10-15 people, all good friends.
In retrospect, I should have seen what was coming, but...I didn’t.
It turned into a 3 hour political audiovisual tirade against Bush, neocons, conservatives and Israel, with some music mixed in. It looked like Code Pink put together the slide and video shows they had going on.
I didn’t want to ruin the evening for the people I went with, but I was steaming mad. I grit my teeth and sat there. At the end of the “concert”, they released a 40 foot high ballon of a pig with “F*ck Bush” on one side and “Vote Democrat” on the other.
I have only within the last few months begun to listen to Pink Floyd again.
If I know someone is a vocal Leftist a-hole, I have no problem with someone bringing it up and accentuating it.
Liked him in a couple of movies that I saw
RIP
He played the sheriff in “Wind River” one of the best movies I have seen in the 10/15 years. If you have not seen it you are in for a treat.
“I had to unfollow him on FB during the first Trump turn due to his moonbat level of TDS posts. Sucks because Ived admired his films and TV since Clear Cut. Will still respect his work. RIP Mr Greene.”
I didn’t know about his politics, sad to hear it, BUT I have decided to separate artists from their politics.
Why should I deprive myself of the “art” side of them just because they are uninformed political jackasses.
He was GREAT in MANY roles. He will be missed.
Thanks I’ll try to catch that someday
It’s free on Pluto now. I think it may still be on netflix.
That movie was the first thing I thought of when I saw Greene died. He was hilarious in that. He was also great in Die Hard With a Vengeance. May he rest in peace.
