From my understanding one person can have more than one indictment depending on how many cimes committed as each indictment is for a specific crime committed. Is this correct?

You are correct. The sealed indictments are not a count of the # of people to be indicted. One person can and often do have many charges against them. For example Ghislaine Maxwell had 6 charges against her.

If someone is indicted by a grand jury, then the charges typically will include at least one felony crime.

There have been very few leaks around the sealed indictments, and around the criminal investigations being conducted. So most people are not aware of what is going on in the background.
