Sample pic of a stripper clip in use:

The stripper clips are often reuseable. It may be new ammo in an old clip.

Yeah, stripper clips are reusable until one breaks off the keeper tab. The action in your pic is Mauser 98 family and the rounds shown are 8MM. Note the short , more stubby neck, which I usually spot a mile away. The cartridges shown are most likely re-loads since it is uncommon to find Spitzer points in 8MM.

The cartridges shown in the pic up-thread are most likely 30-06 noted by the longer, more sloped, shoulder. And they’re not “AP” as hinted at in the text the shooter left. If they were they’d have a black paint nose. And I still haven’t seen a claim that the 5 rounds in the pic are the same as what the shooter actually used.

One might get an -06 round to fire in a loosy-goosey 8MM action but it would be like shooting a paint brush from the handle. At .318 the 8MM rounds would never chamber in an -06 barrel, tho.

Sure would be instructive if the mediots would keep their pie holes shut until they could find someone who knows wot they’re looking at?
