I've had a few people (3 different men) tell me that when they were young (teenagers) they notified their mother that they were now vegan and their meals would have to conform to this standard.
Mother then cheerfully explained to them they they were now responsible for preparing their own meals and buying their specialized foods.
After a few days of struggle, they 'succumbed' to hunger and resumed eating with the family, even if under silent protest (silent, because Dad was watching).
Without the US propping up the appearance of a functioning government, Ukraine would have been forced to negotiate peace long ago, there would be far fewer dead soldiers on both sides, and more of the Ukraine's cities would be intact.
President Trump has said over and over he wants the dying to stop. He tried all available means to get Zelensky/Puppeteers to negotiate peace but they demand to behave like victors and set the terms, including the presence of US troops in Ukraine as 'peace keepers.' The US will not do this because they have observed that the point of the Ukraine war is to have the US fight Russia on behalf of NATO.
So knowing the US provides money to make their government function, the Ukraine postures as being on the cusp of victory, attributing NATO and US funds to their own fierce fighting spirit instead (they keep saying we'll win because we're strong and leave out "as long as the US pays for the war').
President Trump removes the money. NATO/Ukraine panic and bump into each other, and fall down. If this wasn't a bloody war, hilarity would ensue.
We are now closer to negotiated peace. Preferably sooner rather than later, because Papa wants the killing to stop.
