***I was on tanks at the end of the cold war 87 to 89. We transitioned from the 1911s to m9 or 92fs during that enlistment and they were standard issue during my 2nd enlistment for the First Gulf War 91 to 92. I own both today. The 1911 came from the CMP. I love the 92fs.

Wish I still had my “grease gun.” Crummy sights, slow rate of fire, but fun as all get go to shoot.

Went I good to Ft Riley out of basic. We transitioned (the good kind) out of M60s for M-1. I think the M-88 crewmen still grease guns. We had side arms and one M 16 on the M-1. The grease guns looked so cheap. But fired ok.
