That sounds like their standard operating procedure. When Alexander Mercouris summed up his observations (about a year ago) regarding NATO's proposal to fly Ukraine's donated F-16 fighter jets out of Romania (Putin objected), Mercouris said it was just one more strategem in a long series of NATO strategies to start war. He said that's all the war had been based on his observations, one ploy after another.
NATO never expected to have to fight this long - the US was 'supposed' to step in and save NATO from getting its hands dirty. Mercouris has since said that Zelensky has accepted that the US will not provide the 'security agreements' they've been demanding, and that NATO never will (still trying). I believe Zelensky is bluffing and NATO is still persuing the only winning strategy it ever had - start a war and get the US to fight it for them.
I went to the Polish article Zero Hedge linked as a source and chose the English translation option. I will say the translation is not very advanced and had some interesting errors:

I'm wondering if the news outlets have been told by NATO or other Globalists to always report '17' regardless of the actual facts. I recall a US incident report where they were not reporting the casualties but kept saying 'at least 17' when they knew the actual number was higher.
