If a bullet lodged in his spine, that would mean there were two bullets, and one of them was not a .30-06.
That slug went out the other side along with a large volume of blood.
I guess is is possible that the bullet fragmented (as with a Nosler Partition, or a Remington AccuTip, or other fragmenting bullet), but not with a standard FMJ.
If Kash said that, either he’s gone dumbaxx, or the kill shot isn’t a 30-06. It takes two feet of wood or ballistic jell to stop any particular 06 round, regardless of age or manufacturer. No way any human body part would stop one.
One can always ask a Japanese guy in the WW II Pacific how well his wooden bunkers stopped our 06 rounds. I questioned from the start that the gun they showed us a pic of was the one the tranny actually used. So far it’s being hard to keep ones boots dry.
