Nice arrangement of the national anthem. My mom and her mother went to see him play in San Francisco. I grew fond of his music as a young child, especially Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Opus 18.
My mother saw him play the Paganini Rhapsody in Philly in 1936. She said he had the biggest hands she had ever seen on a man. His concert demeanor was businesslike. Occasionally he and Eugene Ormandy would look at each other to make sure they were together.
