If memory serves, the Nepalese monarchy was slaughtered in one go by the crown prince in the royal palace as they sat down to dinner.

I think the Marxists in Nepal were able to leverage that event to abolish the monarchy entirely and replace it with whatever permits the Marxists to wield the most power.
