I’ve seen interviews with Sammy “the Bull” Gravano saying that the mafia couldn’t touch Trump. Trump would not do business with mafia tied construction companies and in fact were afraid of Trump.

Today's Broken China Update deals with the Three Gorges Dam. I don't have ANY hard evidence but a lot of circumstantial chatter. So this is just my Spidey Sense screaming at me.
There haven't been any official water levels published since late July. The TGD is now firmly into its annual rainy/flood season. The dam's operating range is between 145 and 175 meters above mean sea level. Generally the level of the reservoir is lowered to around 145 meters at the start of the rainy season. The water level was kept higher this year, about 155m, to enable increased electrical generation. This has forced increased released of water to protect the TGD.
The last official water level I have is 161.8m from late July. Since then there have been at least two typhoons strike southern China. The rumored current water level is somewhere around 170-171m with up to 55km3/sec of water entering the catchment. So far as I know there are still eleven spillways open. This is only the second time this has happened in the dam's history. Max flow from the spillways is 44km3/sec.
FWIW - The count is now up to 329 rivers that have been above flood level somewhere along their length this summer. The extra/unplanned/unannounced releases of water from the nation's dams has been significant. The flooding downstream of the dams on these rivers has been devastating.

Obvious from the start! ...child trafficking, human trafficking, sex trafficking, drug trafficking! The cartels could not run billion dollar enterprises across our borders without some official support - from the top right on down. We may never catch the whole road crew but they will face a harsher judgment in the end.

That reminds me: my son and I watched a great movie the last 2 nights that I would bet probably no one on FR has ever seen - and if they have seen it, only one time a long time past.
The movie was a 2 night special on ABC TV: THE PATH TO 911 with Harvey Keitel and an extensive cast. In an unusual turn of effort, ABC did extensive research on the attack on the WTC in 1993 and followed up with the emergence of Osama ben Ladin, the Cole and Nigeria attacks and of course the events and people leading up to the attack on the WTC on September 11, 2001.
They were quite frank in portraying America's weakness and inability to deal with the growing threat. Many different events are covered, with dramatic portrayal of people and events. The film, however one might view the actual events concerned with the attack on the WTC, is a documentary masterpiece!
It was so good that the Clintons and Dems did all that they could to suppress its release. ABC had spent a fortune filming all over the world and paying an excellent cast to pull no punches. So ABC showed the film (quite long) for two nights and then filed it in the same place as another film filed away the Ark of the Covenant. One showing only!
I knew it was a treasure that would quickly disappear! I recorded it on a VHS cartridge and then transferred it to a DVD disk. Almost every year since my son and I have watched the show around the annual 9/11 date. It is just a fabulous dramatic documentary presentation IMHO!
I offered a copy to Rush Limbaugh but he said that he already had a copy; he didn't say how he got it. It takes two nights to view the whole thing and I also included a special news presentation - 15 minutes, I think - that ABC aired at the same time.
We really treasure the movie and it brings to mind the many events of that era that culminated in 9/11, even Clinton's bombing of an abandoned aspirin factory with the charge that he was distracting from the Monica Lewinsky fiasco!
And shame on Hyundai for putting on a show with Joe and then turning around and hiring illegals. Why didn’t the union complain!?
I agree. It’s a charade.
How long can the Chinese government keep this dire situation under wraps?
I’m sure our President is leveraging this to our advantage.
