Oh they told us the tariffs couldn’t affect India. But we are their largest trade target accounting for half their exports. Let’s see.
As for being an “ally” unfortunately India has a long standing relationship with the USSR / Russia.

We need to put a tariff on India’s IT services sector, as they have far too deep tentacles into our defense contractors security systems. I know this as I work in a company that has been Space Force contracts for a few aspects of the Golden Dome and many of our IT services are outsourced to India. What are these people thinking?

India is, and always has been, an opportunist. They have had a long relationship with Russia. They are calculating that dealing in Russian oil is more profitable than growing business with the United States.
Sure, they would love to do both but it is plain to see which choice they prefer if they can only have one. Maybe we should put a comparable tariff on their H1B visas.

Deport the H1B Indians and give their jobs back to Americans. And deport the CEO of Microsoft back to India, too.

Fair enough.
However our biggest enemy is ourselves, or politically stated the ‘uniparty’ that got us here in the first place. Much of the global world when it comes to a trading imbalance is our own fault. The amount of political corruption over the years is unfathomable and it only took one person, President Trump to make a difference.
