You must've missed the part where the flight broadcast team mentioned heat tiles and other things were removed from Starship and they were literally beating the snot out of the thing on re-entry with the flaps to stress test the heck out of it.
It wasn't "damage" they did it deliberately and it was a success!
Yeah, I fast forwarded through it. Good they stressed the hell out of it. Both booster and rocket performed marvelously. They could probably do jump lands and get you from Dubai to hawaii in a couple of hours.
Missed the live launch.
Did SpaceX announce what changes they fixed between Flight 9 explosive disassembly and today’s flight 10?
Triumph! Can’t wait for the next one!
This would be great if the little girl describing the launch would stop giggling like a child. Damn that is annoying!!
I only wish I was still a YOUNG Engineer. Working on the Starship program would be the best.
The power of the booster engines combined is equal to sixty-four 747's !!!! SIXTY-FOUR !!!!
No, 100%. They designed in weak spots intending to see failure so they could get an idea of how far they could skimp and at what point failure occurs.
Same. Been in DoD and aerospace for a couple of decades with the "players". What SpaceX is doing is what we were promised as kids, 50 years ago. I had a school organizer in 3rd grade that had graphics of future rockets, spacecraft and extraterrestrial cities. We never realized that dream. Finally now!
It’s too big for the ship. And probably too big from the existing landing area.
I wonder why they didn’t catch the heavy booster?
They aren’t planning on using that model again so there was no sense in taking the chance of a crash landing at the launch site.
They talked about it ahead of the launch, but I had the volume low so I could think. I was at work ...
IOW ... yes, but I have no idea what the changes were.
They wanted to test an “engine out” scenario. That test was successful ... the booster hovered where it was supposed to hover, then went in the drink.
Oh I agree. His operation has grown leaps and bounds. There’s no imagining where we’ll be in 10 years.
Thank you
They need government oversite to be effective.
I’m running for dem office.

Can confirm.
I thought her giggling showed how deeply she was into the launch and SpaceX. Im sorry it bothered you but I felt it made it so much more compelling, she has bought in 100%.
