And he was in The Godfather. Remember, Vito Corleone had that thoroughbred horse killed to get Johnny Fontaine Sinatra the role of Private Maggio in From Here to Eternity. At least that's what Mario Puzo said.

And his performance in “From Here To Eternity” was pitiful. Like a first year actor’s performance. He got the Oscar cause “he was due.”
