Caitlin Clark, the standout guard for the Indiana Fever, has become one of the most electrifying talents in the WNBA. Her scoring prowess, playmaking ability, and leadership have not only helped elevate the Fever but also brought unprecedented attention to the league.
However, the 2025 season has been anything but smooth for Clark, whose ongoing injury issues and the team's internal struggles are raising serious questions about her future in professional basketball.
Clark's season has been plagued by multiple injuries. She first suffered a right groin injury on July 15, which kept her off the court for more than a month. During a solo training session on August 7, she sustained a bone bruise on her left ankle, further complicating her recovery.
The Fever have yet to provide a clear timeline for her return, leaving fans anxious about her availability for the playoff push.
Is Caitlin Clark coming back?
Popular WNBA content creator Rachel DeMita has weighed in bluntly on Clark's situation and fears she may not be back this season - or perhaps at all.
"I don't think Caitlin Clark is coming back," DeMita said, blunt and unfiltered. "And honestly, that's the thought on everyone's mind right now."
DeMita's candid assessment reflects the unease surrounding Clark's recovery and the Fever's handling of the situation. While head coach Stephanie White remains more measured, stating: "The hope is that she's back."
Either way, fans are growing impatient, with many expressing frustration online and a sense that they have "had enough" of the uncertainty.

The WNBA has not even tried to protect Clark.
She should go to Europe and Play.
Don’t hold back now Alaska! lol
CC might command a larger salary playing in Europe, but her endorsement deals are probably tied to her WNBA career. Catch-22.
Nah. She’s not done making white guilt statements.
What makes you think she wouldn’t encounter so-called racism playing in Europe?
She’s a midwestern woman that appears to be “grounded”.
She’s already banked more money than most folk make in a lifetime.
Fame and fortune, ain’t everything.
The logo of the WNBA is a blown layup.
CC’s lawyers are probably going thru the wording of her current endorsement deals. If she takes her game to Europe, there is the possibility that Nike & some others will sue her for breach of contract — claiming the move damages her marketability.
The WNBA management has done everything they can to screw up the windfall they received when Caitlan Clark came into the league.
She’s white and straight which in the WNBA is not allowed.
One of the things not talked about often is how they’ve handled Clark’s injury, if she’s out, she’s out, be upfront and honest with fans, they have kept her injury and possible return a secret, leaving fans to guess, the reason WNBA management is keeping the injury quiet is so fans hope she returns, buy tickets and then get disappointed when she doesn’t play.
Good point.
She would make a terrible kick boxer.
Lol.
Why are you making stuff up about CC? Being attacked because she’s not a lesbian? Please.
Caitlin out. Sophie Cunningham out for the season after being assaulted on the court.
WNBA killing their golden geese.
I don't see that happening. Why would she want to play in England. Or France? Maybe Germany?
If she's not playing in the WNBA, perhaps she'll retire and coach college basketball. Or attempt to play golf in the LPGA.
Right now, I think there's a slight possibility that she'll demand a trade from Indiana Fever. She may give it one more chance in the WNBA with a team that will support her.
Most players in the WNBA are lesbians. WNBA players of all races have played rough with CC. 17% of total flagrant fouls were committed against CC in 2024.
Yeah, i don’t care about the WNBA.
Im a hockey fan!
Just a hunch since most of the players are white Europeans.
What makes you think she will?.....Sheesh!
That's certainly a possibility, but not likely since major manufacturers like Nike offer the same endorsements to European professional athletes as they do to US based athletes. And CC is a cash cow.
If I’m Clark I either start retaliating for these attacks or I quit and go play elsewhere.
Or it's because they're straight.
She will never do that so she might as well as retire.
