People don’t want to understand what a tremendous threat their dogs can be if they’re not trained and/or allowed to run free. I know someone who gets very emotional if anyone says anything about how dangerous pit bulls are. He apparently had a wonderful, loving pit bull. They’re wonderful and loving until they aren’t and nobody can predict when the kill switch will get flipped.
I lived in the country as a kid and my view points on people and their dogs was shaped then. Not one person I ever dealt with, will take responsibility for their dog.
Tell them they are attacking your chickens and they lie and get mad at you. Tell them they were chasing your children, you get more lies. I killed probably over 30 dogs before I hit 16 years old. It is easier to shoot, shovel, and shut up.
I will no longer make any effort to talk to owners about their bad dogs. I will call the city and if they don’t fix the problem, I will. My way is final and I don’t have to ever worry about that particular dog again.
I have found you can fit almost any, but the largest dogs, in your dumpster if you live in the city like I do. And to your crybabies, who are mad at me for this post, I DON’T CARE!
