In my post #24 I concentrated on George W. Bush‘s huge foreign policy failures. But as you and others have noted, he was also a disaster on the domestic front.

Not that we had much choice, but I am embarrassed to have voted for him in 2000. But I did wise up by 2004 and voted third-party.

In 2000, we didn't have much of a choice. I wanted Quayle, but he flamed out early in the race, and we were left with Bush and the Hanoi Hilton Songbird, and I was not about to vote for the Songbird. In the general, I had to vote for Bush over Algore.

As bad as Bush was, we were fortunate that Algore wasn't president at the time of the 9/11 terrorist attacks
