Kind of funny, I turned 19 the Summer of 1969 and didn’t hear about Woodstock until the movie came out a couple of years later. Not that I would have gone, none of my friends had heard about it either.

Now you can use AI to generate your own music. While AI-generated music is still obviously fake, it serves as a pretty good demo for real musicians to play.
So anyone can now compose songs with little effort.

“”””The leaders of the upheaval from civil rights to yippies and free love never a real majority were actually pre boomers””””
You can see that in the list of musicians in the article, Silent Generation people and some older than them.

At Altamont they hired Hells Angels as security. It was a disaster waiting to happen.

Was that when you got your first real six-string?

I’ve been listening to a lot of Allman Bros. recently. Great stuff.Duane Allman … and Dicky Betts too….. were guitar virtuousos. Duane gone way too soon. The live version of ONE WAY OUT is an all-time classic.
And JESSICA… simply heavenly.

From SNL Weekend Update with Chevy Chase:
"A final humorous note: Cartoonist Charles Schulz announced today that he plans to create another character for his popular comic strip Peanuts, famous for such personalities as Snoopy and Woodstock. According to Schulz, he will replace Woodstock with a bird named 'Altamont', who will beat the other birds to death with a pool cue."

Frank Zappa said that we were better off with the cigar-chomping old men who were willing to take a chance, than with the “young, hip guys”, who thought they knew what the kids wanted to hear.Ahmet Ertegun of Atlantic Records would certainly fit that category.

Timeless. I knew that as my teenage daughter and her friends about 20 years ago knew and sang along “Going To The Chapel and We’re Gonna Get Married”.
Song is still around as many others. Thank goodness

I can remember driving in the family stationwagon near that part of NY and seeing signs on the road and people hitch-hiking and asking my father if we could go. The answer was No.
