This article misses the point. There is an entire industry on YouTube where a bunch of conservative, liberal and moderate “influencers” react to “insane” YouTube posts from the other side. And a surprising number of the insane YouTube posts are created precisely to generate a reaction. Its two sides of the same coin. People like to watch them for fun or to indulge in rage porn. I doubt anyone is looking to Brett Cooper to be a conservative saviour. She’s making money with what she does, but that’s the extent of her influence.
Making content isn’t the issue, the issue is distribution, and who controls it.
Reaction videos are just that, rage porn if the reactor isn’t commenting and informing the viewer why the video is wrong.
