I could watch Batman at age 15.

But, just a year earlier (Dec 1964), Mom said “No way you are going to go see Goldfinger” (in so many words). Mom & Dad didn’t want their 13 year old son asking questions about “Pussy Galore” and then didn’t want me to see Jill Masterson get killed by being covered in gold paint.

Moms were tough that way. Nothing got past mom. And that was obviously WAY before you looked things up on the ‘net.

The film history story that early theater audiences of the first run Goldfinger had a wave of nervous giggling and gasping when Galore’s name was mentioned on screen is true.

Innocent times.

I was there. Paid my 60 cents to see it after the first tier 75 cent theaters let it go. Worth every penny.
