According to police, officers from the 35th District responded to a report of a shooting on the 1700 block of West Olney Avenue on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 12:55 a.m.

A 43-year-old man was walking up a hill when he encountered a woman with three dogs. One of the dogs was on a leash, while the other two were not.

Police say the man announced that he was going to pass by the woman, who then called for her dogs. However, the two dogs that were off-leash ran toward the man. He began yelling for the owner to retrieve them, and as the dogs continued to approach him, he discharged his firearm several times

What a great story! Ours were sired by goat guardians too, but we got them at 12 weeks. We raised ours with a baby goat, next to but not with the herd. At around 4 months we put them all together and they are all truly a pack. We brought the pups to the house for a few months after spay/neuter but they were so sad, they missed their goats.

We never had to train them. The girl pyr walks the fence line and is the most vocal. The boy lays among the herd and has a booming bark. He is the cuddler. It’s not unusual to see him laying with 2-3 goat kids climbing on top of him. Such special dogs ❤️

You sound like a wonderful person. (S)

You aren’t only rude and childish, you are embarrassingly ignorant about Pit Bulls. I have relatives who own Pit Bulls and they are just big babies. It’s how they are raised.

Being insulted by an ignorant piece of garbage like yourself is a badge of honor

Seek therapy. Seriously. You have deep emotional and anger issues.

If you attempt to contact me again, I will report you.

I’m embarrassed for you. .

Pitbulls are the worst. Have had many dealings with those “ big babies”. Put them all down.

That’s funny; I’ve never seen you on FR.

Yet, for some unknown reason, you felt the need to spew your hatred.

I repeat: Animal abusers are scum.

Unfortunately, there are criminals who raise Pit Bulls to be vicious. The blame with vicious dogs lies with the owners, not the dogs.

“People who blindly trust a dog around children are playing with dynamite.”

When I lived in Alaska, about once a year there would be a news story about a “loving gentle” husky dog turning on a family member. Usually it was a small child.

The pitbull breed was bred to be a vicious fighting dog back in the 1800s. It was a form of betting entertainment to watch the dogs fight to the death.

A rational person would understand that it's in the nature of the dog to be potentially dangerous with a propensity to unexpectedly snap. Lacking that knowledge of the pitbulls history could lead a naive person to drop their guard thinking hugs and kisses can undo centuries of genetic violent breeding.

The world would be a better place if this breed was eliminated.

I didn’t contact you, Karen. I replied to your very crappy post. I too have owned pittys that were all big babies. I have dogs and love them enough to keep them leashed and under control when out in public.

If a strangers dog is aggressive and comes at me, Im going to shoot it too. And I really dont care what idiots like you think about it.

Report me if you please. I really dont GAF.

Yes, they are very special indeed. An ancient breed, bred to protect livestock against wolves and bears in the French Pyrenees, then they became the Royal dogs of Paris, but almost became a lost breed until about 60 or 70 years ago. Our “Ivory” just loves to play with our grandchildren, she is very loyal, affectionate, and intelligent, but can also be very stubborn at times, given all of her great qualities, we can live with a bit of stubborn.

Yes, they can be so stubborn. I think it’s because they are so smart. Sometimes mine look at me like “I have to think about whether I’m gonna obey you”, lol I love how they want to lean on you too. Mine will lean in on both sides of me when I’m walking.

Here’s my big boy:

If the dogs didn’t respond to the owner’s command they shouldn’t be off a leash. If I felt threatened I would shoot them also.
