Sadly, Kodak is going the way of Sears.
Sears had the biggest mail order business in the country and could not adapt to modern times. They sold off their most profitable name, Craftsman, and kept their dead weight, which sent them right down the drain.
Craftsman still lives. I suspect the Kodak name will be purchased and also survive.

When Kodak filed for Chapter 11, they sold 3 divisions to a company in England. They formed a company called Kodak Alaris. One of the divisions was sold to a company in Hong Kong. Last year a company called Kingswood bought Kodak Alaris with its 2 remaining divisions.
Kodak Moments, a division of Kodak Alaris sells film (manufactured by Kodak), and designs and sell photo services picture kiosks. https://business.kodakmoments.com/

Nothing “could not adapt”. What happens is that someone gets into the chief executive spot that exists only to bleed the company dry.
