“”I really like raw oysters, kale and escargot. Dad taught me when I was a preschooler to taste everything a few times before I decided I didn’t like it.
Look forward to a Trip to New Orleans later this year, eating at Antoines, where Oysters Rockerfeller were invented. Hugely expensive, but worth it as a special treat.””
You will love New Orleans food. I do love fried oysters and oyster stew. I just don’t like the raw aspect. I did have a dish of escargo where it was baked in a puff pastry and that was good. But any other way... nah.
Be sure and try the Crawfish or Shrimp Etoufee, Boudin and Gumbo while there. I’m a Cajun food nut. It’s only second to Mexican cooking in my favorites. Asian third, Italian fourth. Now I’m hungry.... dang it.
Went to NOLA every Easter vacation when I was a teen. My beloved grandmother managed a pretty little hotel right on the park. My dad was in the restaurant biz and he and the owner of Antoine’s liked to talk about food. Loved their pompano.
Taking ny daughter soon, staying at same place, now Parkside Inn.
Daughter is a little afraid to go since that idiot drove a truck into people on the street, killing some.
