When I was in school, Mom and Dad bought a new dress, a tablet, and maybe a pencil box. All supplies, including hygiene products, were at school. (Of course, that is tax money.) But now parents are responsible to replenish toilet paper and Kleenex -— ugh!

We never had Kleenex when I was in school! We either used toilet paper or paper towels.

The toilet paper was the cheapest ever but it worked. The paper towels would take your whole lip off if you blew your nose in it but, again it worked.

We had soap, again cheap stuff probably pure lye soap something like Fels-Naptha. Took off several layers of skin but got you clean.

The problem as I saw it was that the kids in the class somewhat constantly ask for paper towels and tissue. This is high volume during the cold and flu seasons. The school does not supply this stuff for use in the classrooms. Is it fair to have the teachers supply snot rags for their students at their own expense?
