Being poor is hard.
I’ve been homeless. I’ve slept in the woods. Recently.
I’m not alone either. The rental situation in America is getting out of hand. We’re all making - literally - what we made in the mid 90s and our costs have more than doubled.
The rentals are no longer managed by humans who can work with you to pay rent you pay on the first. If you don’t, you’re out in the cold on the 15th. I’m done with it live in an rv now and work remotely.
But yeah, I do feel for a lot of homeless people.
I had a roommate nearly until I got married. I couldn’t afford an apartment and the bills and still get ahead.
I understand where you are coming from.
Hang in there.
Homelessness in the U.S. has NOTHING to do with high rents.
This is the Left’s FAVORITE explanation for homelessness...”we must lower the rents...we need rent control.”
What a crock!
Homelessness is caused by drug abuse and/or alcohol.
So raising the minimum wage did not help?
I was glad that he is finding place for them to stay. I know he wants to get many help with mental issues and addiction. He’s a good man. What is sad is leaving them alone in a life of despair.
He’s going to move them to a better location. Take care of them . Probably many are mentally ill.
