You just have to understand that evil exists. And understand that Israel is God’s chosen people.

The Jews were God's chosen people, as documented by scriptures written thousands of years ago. The current state of Israel is a country that was created by the Allied powers after WWII. Are they the same thing? One ought to be sure before declaring blind allegiance.
