It’s “denial”, right? There’s the truth, which we are called to seek, understand, honor, and then there’s everything else.
When we set out to deny the truth, we invite suffering. And in this case, a catastrophe.
Very sad what happened here. May God bless the young man who committed suicide, but also the poor train conductor who had no choice but to witness what happened.
I agree. In this case they’ve convinced themselves that the only way to be happy is to be something that they can never be. To pretend they can change something that can never be changed. To run away from themself. No psychiatrist should say that is a healthy thing. It is this attitude that needs to be treated, not cutting off body parts to manufacture an illusion.
