Is there in fact any sign of volcanic activity in Greenland, whether from eruptions or fissure flows. If so, then this change in the lake could be due to a magma dome moving closer to the earth’s surface. It is interesting that this explosive manifestation was in the same period as the Huge earthquake in the Kamchatka Peninsula, followed by a volcano eruption. Does Greenland even have any earthquake monitoring equipment?

A historic fact is that within a month of the great Lisbon earthquake and tsunami disaster several centuries ago, Boston also had the worst earthquake recorded since settled by Europeans. Also, when New Madrid, US, was having the worst earthquakes in our historic times in 1811-12, Caracus, Venezuela also had a severe earthquake that killed 20,000 people.
