In Georgia, the zip code you’re born in may determine whether you survive an HIV diagnosis. That’s not a metaphor. That’s the reality playing out across the Southern United States, where stigma clings tighter than sweat in August, and access to testing still depends too often on who you know, how much you make, or how terrified you are of being seen at the clinic.

I find it hard to believe the zip code of your birth will determine if you survive an HIV diagnosis.
They make some leaps of logical thinking to come to such a conclusion.
The at home test has been available for 13 years ...
Blame “the system” never admit the failure of the individual to take individual responsibility.
“Can I get one of those kits? Asking for a friend.”
If your old prospector is crusty probably you should get one for yourself too.
but more seriously, if this is such a problem they should be subsidized and cost $20.
In the old days I had a co worker who had a cousin who managed a strip club, let me tell you those girls are tight with their money.
They make some leaps of logical thinking to come to such a conclusion.
Oh, it gets worse. I keep reading that the only way to know your HIV status is to "get tested."
Provably false. 95%+ of the population can be completely sure throughout their entire lives that they are free of HIV, without a single test of any kind. And they can know that they're at virtually ZERO risk of contracting it.
These people writing these articles mistake propaganda for logic.
Correct.
Exactly.
At some point they will have to start talking plain, black men and homosexuality and bi-sexuality, and the dangers of females dating them.
Some people, such as faithful married couples, have zero risk, and so no need for testing.
Apparently they have good enough health care to get diagnosed.
Unless you were raped or had a bad blood transfusion you volunteer for this.
I think I'm going to start calling my wife that. "Come here, God's way".
It's labeled "acquired" for a reason. There is definite volition involved in contracting it.
AIDS got it’s big break out in the US back around 1980 when someone brought it in from Africa, Spread it through a big homo orgy on Fire Island, NY, then it spread all across the US. The Homos had no cure for it so managed to infect the clean people to get the US to work on a cure. Bill Clinton’s Prison system had a huge outbreak in which the prisoners gave blood that caused problems with the Blood Bank, infecting normal people who needed operations and hemophiliacs at that time.
Since AIDS was endemic to the Apes in Africa I will not ask how it was spread to humans.

A little bit of self-interested propaganda maybe?
Wasn't it traced back to some queer French-Canadian air steward who flew back and forth between Canada, France and West Africa?
TMI. It ain’t crusty yet.
I think it was in 1981 that I first read a newspaper story about AIDS. By 1983 it was big news (and of course blamed on Ronald Reagan).
There was an isolated case in St. Louis in the late 1960s of a black teenager with a mysterious disease. The doctors were mystified by it so kept a vial of his blood. After AIDS started to appear they discovered that he had had AIDS.
It’s in the black community mostly.
I can remember “patient zero,” who was not ashamed to willingly own up to the notoriety of spreading AIDS to queers in America. He was a flight attendant, and slept around with numerous anonymous partners in his exploits around the country. It’s like cancer that has spread to the lymph node, it has an expressway to spread to the whole body.
This is just another story about the map. IYKYK.
