Back in the old days we had three major television networks plus government run public broadcasting and newspapers that just spewed out government (including NASA) propaganda.
All were dominated by Operation Mockingbird.
So—most folks had no independent sources of information to help them along...
Back in the old days, there were really big, huge libraries ... to help folks along. For the folks that read/consumed books, of course.
