“”Tennessee, Florida, and other States had a problem with a federal loophole that would allow EBT funds to be used in Strip Clubs. So they had to pass laws against it. I’m hoping you agree that your taxpayer funds should not be paying for a good time in Strip Clubs?
It all boils down to the government has absolutely no right to tell me I can or cannot buy with MY money, but I support them restricting what OTHERS can buy with the money they STOLE from me... Make sense?””
Sigh... the government WILL tell you what you can or cannot buy at some future point in time. You’re giving government that green light right here in this thread. Oh sure, you’ll be shocked when it rolls around to you and YOUR money, your life, your freedom of choice. But that won’t stop it from happening. And tell me... are you speaking out also about this same government (the federal one, that is) spending YOUR MONEY on drug addicts and enabling their habit? There are a thousand different things that Government spends YOUR MONEY on that are much worse than mere “sugary sodas”. And yet you’re ok with that?
And again... US veterans on SNAP haven’t ‘stolen’ a damned thing from you. In fact, you should be paying them with “YOUR MONEY” for having defended this nation on your behalf.
Point is.... as Conservatives, you should be pushing for LESS government control, not more. You’ll find out... the hard way... in time.

I do want less government control, getting rid of SNAP, period, would be a good start.
Now here is a point you did not bring up that I am going to share in support of folks who do need SNAP. I’m going to give you some Ammo for your argument box. Many of them have already paid their fair share of taxes into the system too as an insurance policy. And many of those collecting SNAP are still working and paying into the system even though they have no choice but to get some of it back because even though they are working they really are shy enough to make ends meet... So the “full burden” is not on the other taxpayers, most of those who receive have also prepaid or are still paying into the system too. It is just like paying into Social Security insurance.
