It should be done like WIC where there are vouchers for certain food items.
If they want beyond that, they need to work for it.

I'm with you metmom...and I am very sad to not see MA on the list, but NOT surprised. MA seems to think the problem is solved by creating new programs to administrate for people to buy good food, as though they know the SNAP bennies are being spend on garbage. Right now at farmer's markets we accept: SNAP/EBT, HIP (Healthy Incentive program), WIC, Boston City Coupons, MA Farmer's Market Coupons, Elderly Market Coupons (they literally hand out at the senior centers), any given food pantry tokens, POP money................
Meanwhile, we will have one person shop with 4+ EBT cards with iterations of the same name, people with thousands of dollars balance on their card, some shopping with full nails & full braids, people appearing to shop for a restaurant with hundreds of market coupons (as though they were purchased for cents on the dollar, etc. And yes, people who are clearly "newcomers" shopping with EBT, no English, got a ride from Lyft from a Healey Hotel - make the blood boil!!!
