I stand by what I said. I don’t think GOP should get bogged down in policing what people eat.
Forcing behavioral fixes through government regulation rarely works.
Even then, restricting SNAP purchases, I doubt, would significantly change dietary habits in any case.
Poor nutrition is deeply tied to income and lack of education. More bureaucratic stuff won’t solve the root issues.
They can pay their own medical bills as well. Consuming more soda and eating more junk food than the general population and turning around to claim Medicare funding and farm subsidies to grow the corn at taxpayer expense will at least lift the pretense that this has anything to do with Supplemental Nutrition.
