Don’t think so. Improved detection would only detect it sooner. The undetected cancer would grow to detectable size.
My wife never smoked by died of lung cancer. It should have been detected earlier by the doc was convinced it was bronchitis.
Very sorry that happened to your wife. The same thing is happening to me right now. I don’t smoke, and my lung cancer was accidentally discovered when I had fluid in the lungs 2 weeks after a hip replacement. I’ve had lung surgery and chemo.
