Ah, you answered a question I was going to ask! “How well do impatiens overwinter”?

The question because I bought 3x 10” (approx. guess) hanging pots of impatiens on clearance @ Menards for $1 ea., and so far, they all seem to be recovering nicely. Overwintering them in my wife’s classroom (private school) would be quite nifty!

That impatiens did not over winter. The violet and the ivy did. I’m trying to remember if I’ve ever tried overwintering a NG impatiens. I don’t think so.

I have overwintered canna lilies and Angel Wing begonias with decent success. I got 2 extra seasons out of the lily, and 3 extra seasons out of the begonia. Also I had success with heliotrope once, and got an extra season from it. That’s been hard to find and I got 2 starters this Spring, so I’m hoping (fingers crossed) that I have some luck with those plants inside this winter. I don’t have a lot of space, so I will have to pick the best and healthiest plants I have to bring indoors.
