Am I the only one who thinks saying this to someone is rather presumptuous? I might write someone out of my will just for asking this of me.

One of my in-laws is from a different ethnicity than WASP. I say stuff like that and it give offense. I've had to explain WASP straight-face witticisms. It's an art. The proper response is a raised eyebrow, a sardonic glance, or at most, a titter behind one's hand.
