Maybe the article should have called it False Deity Syndrome.
My mother had the real white coat syndrome. Just made her anxious to go. Of course I told one of my Dr’s nurses that I think some people have it because they weigh you on uncalibrated scales right before taking your blood pressure.
Both my mother and mother-in-law have white coat syndrome. Flippin; Boomers. Gawd! Anyway, neither of them have been sick since they moved in with us (knocks wood). Yet, they listen not to a word I say when it comes to healing, maintenance, or diet (although we kinda force a good one on them, hehe). If I wore a white coat would they listen to me that simple 20 minute walks everyday and they can drop their anti-depressant and high blood pressure pills. If I wore a white coat would they listen to me when I tell them some simple exercises you can do IN THE BED would remedy their incontinence? Etc etc etc.
