We have adopted the Russian word for Operational Deception, Maskirovka.

Maskirovka involves deceptive measures including concealment, imitation with decoys and dummies, maneuvers intended to deceive, denial, and disinformation.

One of the primary tenants of Maskirovka involves showing the enemy what they expect to see while you do something else.

PDJT seems to be a master of Maskirovka.

Absolutely. And I’ve heard that he even knows some Russian.

I’m OK with blaming “Maskirovska” on Ivan but it has that sound of a convenient catch-all word. Kind of like our guys guarding the gate in Berlin back in the day when Germans and Russians were all either Ivan or Comrade.
