The same thing happens with dates and deadlines, with sanctions, first on and then off, or visa versa, off and then on, nations and leaders are publicly in the pink with him, and then publicly right back out in the dark. Senators are publicly favored with garlands of generosity in words, then publicly eviscerated.

You're just bitter because Trump is winning and your side is losing.
Your employer is fairly predictable, as are you; Trump is the opposite of predictable.
Trump uses abrupt changes in direction to throw enemies off. He's also responding to changes in classified information so we can't 'see' all the details in play.
If behind the scenes, India or another country makes military or economic decisions (e.g., breaks sanctions to supply arms) which Trump feels are adverse to our national security, he won't tell us about it, but he may abruptly change trade deals and wait for India to figure it out.
Many nations and leaders were in league with the deep state and actively trying to kill Trump via prosecution for treason. He's not really dealing with many 'friends'.
