Remember where I said, "People and countries do things for their reasons and not yours"?

The CCP knows that at any time it wants to, the military can remove them from power and there isn't a damn thing they can do to stop them.

This "Party Work" is designed to
1) Indoctrinate the military members into supporting the party and hence, coming to the Party's defense.
2) Identifying and removing individuals with insufficient zeal in supporting the party
3) Continually taking the temperature of the military as a whole so that problems can be identified early.

The problem that I see with having a military that is a tool for the CCP is it won’t be useful for operations that require actual fighting skills. If Winnie the Pooh decides to use a military action to distract the people from worsening domestic conditions, could the PLA, PLAN, and PLAAF pull it off? Probably not because that is not their purpose.
