POTUS has deeply offended India. No doubt about it, Modi and Trump were known to be very friendly. Modi was one who always showed delight being in POTUS’s company always seen as cooperative.
Now this 50% tarrif is levied against India.
Modi has been simmering.
Now, without a word to President Trump, he is announcing India will be taking the tarrif action to the international Court as a blatant violation of international law.
The tarrif hits India’s agricultural sector, over their intention to participate in BRICS.
The offense taken is grave, and fear is attributed to displacing India’s vast numbers of independent farmers, large and small, with Big Corporporate farming.
They can’t live with that.
So Modi has been in China, signed on with a full trade contract with China, garnered China’s full support, and is buying all its oil from Russia.
Not sure, myself, how BRICS is something another nation can stop. It is an agreement between nations, right?

By India's design, the US does not benefit from any trade relationship with India. We are just one of their targets. It's not trade. They view the US like locusts view a wheatfield.

There may be hope for England after all.
I have two brothers and one sister still in Nova Scotia. My sister and I became closer during covid when she also refused to be vaccinated, at my urging. Sheâs become more knowledgeable about the world in the last 5 years, doesnât watch or believe the news media, and told me that she thinks the fires are being deliberately set and the government doesnât want to profile the arsonists and only keep THEM out of the forests. My brothers are obedient slaves to the governments and media and theyâre saying itâs just too dangerous for anyone to be in the dry forests because the fires are breaking out spontaneously because of climate change, doncha know, and the government doesnât want to have to rescue innocent people surrounded by climate change fires. I no longer trust most authority figures, and never the news or governments, so Iâm with my sister on this one. If the governments werenât messing with the weather in the first place, it would rain more and this wouldnât even be a possibility. Weâre in a prolonged drought in Canada, almost unheard of in Nova Scotia, where it used to rain about every third day. Itâs been 6-7 weeks since weâve had any measurable rain in either southern Ontario and Nova Scotia, probably many other areas as well. Maybe theyâre planning to burn us all out of our homes, like California and Hawaii did.
