Years ago, my wife and I visited the “Rose City.”
We stayed in a nice hotel that was famous for its wood paneled bar and restaurant. Our trip started out in a pleasant way.
BUT...
We noticed the many, hippie like, people wandering around with 1,000 yard stares wearing tie dyed T-shirts looking as though they had not bathed in weeks.
Panhandlers, aplenty, had to be avoided or else we were given a “ration of shit” for not giving them money!
We vowed to never go there again!
Think that is bad, try San Francisco.
