Yes. That has been going on for centuries. But I wonder. The current crop of Islamists seem to be much more radical. Would they be content with infidels paying the jizya tax?

Well, I think if THEY were total in charge they would need someone to do the dirty work. Slaves, maybe they would need slaves. Your labor would be your tax. I've heard that islam still enslaves the Blackman in some parts of Africa..
