Costs too much? Obtained elsewhere for less?

Sports books are universally available online

There are casinos on Indian reservations all over the nation.

Maybe there is a fixed proportion of individuals who enjoy gambling. And maybe their needs are already being met without all of the Las Vegas “overhead”.

IDK, but “supply and demand” is a pretty foundational economic principle.

Atlantic city also went downhill. Maybe the only good casino left is the Tropicana. Even Ballys and Caesars are run down. Have not been back since 2022.

Yes, and the ‘overhead’ of any city venue increasingly includes lack of safety.

I don’t know about Vegas in particular, but the random black-on-white violence in inner cities has got to be suppressing demand. I know I’m avoiding inner cities like the plague.
