Lol. The Confederacy had a HUGE Government. They Nationalized whole industries. Davis CONSTANTLY stomped on State Rights. FAR worse than what Lincoln did, and Lincoln did too much. It is unfortunate that the War brought forth stupid Whig policies.

LOL! The Confederacy wanted a SMALL Government but was forced to defend itself against the largest land army in the world at the time bent on invading their territory. Davis definitely did not trample on states rights anywhere near as badly as Lincoln did. He also did not trample on civil liberties anywhere near as much as Lincoln did.

The Confederacy Socialized the Cotton and Salt Industries. Davis's draft was more draconian than Lincoln's. Lincoln was a bumbler, who was bailed out by the TRUE hero of the war, General Sherman
The War would have last several month's if Jackson was President, then the ringleaders would have been hung for treason all over the South. For as Jackson told Calhoun, " if you Secede from my Nation, I shall Secede your head from your sholders."
