All Along The Watchtower
Why would I torture myself reading this?
Because “worst” threads alway generate more interest.

I am not sure about the worst cover song, as there are so many bad ones. But one of the best cover songs I’ve heard was Jerry Garcia doing Dear Prudence.

I put a couple of good covers
Neil Young’s “Imagine”.
At least Tony had good taste in which artists to cover.

2. Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door - Guns and Roses

Chicago was a cover band until they wanted to do their own songs. They were told if they did their songs, they would be fired. They did, got fired, went to the west coast, played second fiddle to Blood, Sweat, and Tears at the studios, toured colleges doing their music and the rest is history.
