Newsom is threatening to change the California map and how redistricting is currently done, not Texas redistricting. It’s hypothetically a counter to offset Republicans gains in Texas.

The problem is House members from California are already a huge democrat majority(43-9) Texas is 25 Republican, 12 democrats, with 1 vacancy.

It’s hard to see California squeezing more democrats out of an already heavily democrat turnip.

“The Well is Dry” and Newsom is feeding little democrats with hopium and a bunch of BS.

Gerrymandering is a true art form.

For masters of the art anything is possible.

Yes, how much more can they gerrymander, in California?

Cursory review of the internet, shows that Democrats got a bit over 60% of the overall vote for members of Congress in California in 2024.

So based on that percentage, of 52 House seats in California, Democrats should have about 31 or 32 . Yet they have 43.

It looks like California is already heavily gerrymandered.

But Gavin Newsom is unsatisfied with his party being so heavily overrepresented. Go figure.
