Democrats complain about Republicans doing gerrymandering.

Yet, Democrats perform gerrymandering in places where they are in charge.

So apparently to the Democrats, it’s okay.If they do gerrymandering. But they are just shocked, if Republicans would do that where they have the ability to do so.

Texas used to be heavily gerrymandered to favor the Democrats.

At issue are the districts created to guarantee that a black Democrat wins ("majority minority" districts). Some claim the civil rights laws dictate this. Others that it violates the 14th amendment. These districts have crazy boundaries. The Supreme Court has yet to give a clear answer but may be forced to before long.

The Republicans might add some seats in Texas if they redistrict but they may cause other seats to become competitive.
