I once had hopes of accomplishing this myself, but altitude sickness kept me from summiting Britton Hill in Florida.

Did she climb the highest mountain in Minnesota? According to the Mankato Home Page, which some of you might remember from the early years of the Internet, that would be Mount Mankato, which, according to the site, is 18,000 feet high. The site also claimed that one of the biggest tourist attractions in Mankato is watching blue whales swimming in the Minnesota River.

She did Mt. Whitney in Commiefornia? IIRC it is 14494 ft.
It is the highest peak in the the lower 48.
I have seen 9 year olds running up to the peak at about 14,000 feet.
But good on her for doing something instead of getting a sex change surg.

What a great story! Thanks for posting. I took our kids on lots of hikes in the Bay Area and some in the Sierras, but nothing like what this girl and her dad are experiencing.
