I guess you are assuming all cyclists would be so crazy as to own one of these things if it were possible. As a former cyclist & current senior citizen...I don’t think so. I always remember cycling as a fun pastime & not wanting so much speed as might be getting one into trouble. I see the opposite types, too. Guessing I’m becoming over-cautious in my old age. I was always fascinated with the acceleration of a cycle rather than the high speeds....and the skills associated with off-road riding.
I remember an old sci-fi movie that had these light-cycles in it. They were very hi-speed, could turn at right angles, etc. Anybody remember the name of the movie?

Well, I love to fly and i love to ride, so.....
Anyone can experience jet propulsion far cheaper by just eating beans and then running.
Sounds like Tron.
UNLICENSED???
Pfffft. The motorcycles in the Isle of Man TT go faster than that, a LOT faster.
Already got small jet engines which are strapped to the pilots arms and allows rider to jet around. Already got jet powered airframe which the pilot can strap themselves in and fly. Got single engine propeller pushed ultra lites...vid showed nice bit of kit..
...am waiting for combustible fuel jet, nuclear, or magnetically powered Avro VZ-9 Avrocar with computer controlled engines thrusters...scare the snot out of the UFO crowd...contact at last...
Well, that explains it. It just makes noise and up it goes.
Nah! When you hear it coming you open your car door.
Isn’t 124 mph close to terminal velocity of a falling object?
That certainly would solve the 91 Freeway through Corona..............................

Close... 148ish, but there is no falling. Pretty much the same riding a Ninja at 124. This thing gets about 15’ off the ground which could still be a lethal fall. I guess moving at 124. 15’ above the deck and then falling off would definitely ruin your day!
Yeah, that’ll work.
Those in my demographic *may* remember Gerry Anderson’s Fireball XL5 (10 AM on Saturday, “Supermarionation”) and the flying scooters used by Steve Zodiac and Venus Star.
