Like Zappa, it was worth it just to watch him conduct, as much as play.

Pretty good drummer in that video, too. I think Steve just got out of the Army when he did that gig.

Wow - was just playing “Kind of Blue” (Miles Davis), now THAT’S a trumpet player.

Mangione was a prolific musician who played the flugelhorn and trumpet.

Also played keyboards.

Miles took a lot of crap from fellow blacks for having Bill Evans play on it.

Well that is 3; Ozzy Osborne , Hulk Hogan, and Chuck Mangione

The fourth is Malcolm Jamal Warner (sp), one of the Cosby kids cast members.

In 1975, I was visiting my sister in Georgia. Her boyfriend was Italian and from Rochester. He took us to see Mangione. The album ‘Chase The Clouds Away’ had just come out. I bought the album. We went backstage. I got the entire band to sign the album cover.

Saw Chuck Mangione in concert; excellent. The warm up for the crowd, was guitarist George Benson, also excellent. A friend and I, plus her younger sister, got all dressed up for the concert. It was a fun night.
